Exposure is necessary for a band of any genre to flourish. People outside of a band’s friend group need to know they exist in order to gain momentum. At the same time, funding is also necessary. Playing gigs costs money, considering factors such as travel and gear maintenance. Between exposure and funding, is one more important to the other?
Over the past few years, Johnson City has progressed in developing the downtown area. With the introduction of new shops, restaurants and renovations of local parks, people feel compelled to enjoy what the newer, more aesthetically pleasing, environment has to offer.
